Appliance Removal in Doraville
Heavy, awkward appliances are hard on floors, door frames and backs. We pad the path, strap the unit to a dolly, carry it out of your home and sweep up the spot it leaves behind. You point to it, and we handle the rest.

Removing an old appliance without marking up your home
An appliance usually leaves the way it arrived: through a tight doorway, along a hall and over hardwood or tile. Drag a 250-pound fridge across a kitchen floor once and it can leave a gouge. We use floor runners, door jamb pads and an appliance dolly with ratchet straps so the unit rolls rather than scrapes.
Call us when the installer won't haul off the old unit, when something quits in the basement or garage, or when you're emptying a rental or a parent's house. We'll take a single appliance or a full kitchen's worth and can grab other junk on the same trip.
What appliance removal includes
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Full-size fridges, chest freezers, wine coolers and mini fridges. These hold refrigerant, so we take them to facilities set up to handle it properly instead of leaving them at the curb.
- Washers and dryers
- Top-load, front-load and stacked units. Front-loaders are heavier than they look because of the concrete counterweight inside, and we come equipped for that.
- Ranges, ovens and dishwashers
- Electric ranges, wall ovens, dishwashers and over-the-range microwaves. If you have a gas range, the gas line needs to be shut off and capped by a qualified pro before we arrive.
- Water heaters
- Tank water heaters from basements, garages and closets, once they've been disconnected and drained. A tank that still holds sediment and water can weigh far more than its label suggests.
- Floor and doorway protection
- Runners go down along the whole path, and pads go on door frames and stair edges before anything moves.
- Cleanup where it stood
- The space behind a fridge or under a washer is usually dusty and sometimes damp. We sweep it out before we leave so you can clean or install right away.
Signs it's time to haul that appliance away
The new one is already on order
Many delivery crews only remove the old unit for an added fee, or not at all. Clearing it out first makes install day easier.
It runs constantly or not at all
A fridge that hums nonstop through a Georgia summer and still can't hold temperature is costing you every month it stays plugged in.
Water on the floor
A leaking washer or water heater can soak subfloor and drywall. Getting the failed unit out lets you see and dry the damage.
It's been sitting in the garage for years
That backup freezer or old dryer is taking up parking space, and it gets harder to move the longer it sits.
Rust, smells or mold
Rust on a water heater base or a musty smell from a washer drum usually means repair is no longer worth it.
What the pickup looks like
- 1
Start with a phone call
Let us know the appliance, where it's located and what stands between it and the door. You'll get a phone quote, or we can do a free, no-obligation on-site estimate if you want us to see it first.
- 2
Get it ready
Unplug it, empty and defrost any fridge or freezer, and have the water and gas lines shut off and disconnected. Not sure about a connection? Ask on the call and we'll say what needs a plumber or gas tech.
- 3
Cover the route, then roll it out
The crew puts down runners, pads the door frames and straps the unit to the dolly. We're enrolled in E-Verify, so you know who is in your home.
- 4
Clean up and head out
With it loaded, we roll up the runners, sweep the spot it sat in and check the route for any marks.

What drives the price
Prices are upfront with no hidden fees, so what we quote is what you pay. The cost comes down to the appliance and how tricky it is to get out. These are the things that change it.
- Size and heft
- One person can carry a mini fridge. A full water heater or side-by-side refrigerator needs two people and more time.
- Stairs and tight turns
- A basement unit with a landing to turn at, or a split-level with stairs up and down, takes more time than an easy roll out through the garage.
- Refrigerant and recycling
- Freezers, fridges and window AC units have to go to the proper facility, which can change the cost compared with a plain washer.
- Number of items
- A few appliances, or one plus other junk from the house, can often go in a single trip with one combined price.
Questions about appliance removal
Something not covered here? (404) 476-8101
Should I disconnect the appliance ahead of time?
Yes. Please unplug it and have any water line shut off and disconnected. For gas ranges and gas dryers, a qualified pro needs to cap the line. That keeps your home safe and the visit short.
Will taking out my fridge hurt the floors?
Runners go down from the appliance to the door, and a strapped dolly keeps it from dragging. We pad door frames and stair edges as well, then check the route for marks before leaving.
How soon can you come?
We offer same-day and next-day service, depending on the schedule. Call and we'll tell you what openings we have.
Can you get appliances out of a basement?
Yes. We pick up basement washers, freezers and water heaters all the time. Mention the stairs when you call so we send enough people. If more than the appliance needs to go, our basement cleanouts service handles the rest.
Do I need to clear out the fridge?
Yes, and let it defrost for a day if possible. A freezer full of ice drips all the way out, and leftover food makes it heavier and messier.
Ready to get that old appliance out?
Tell us what it is and where it sits, and we'll give you a clear price. We'll leave the spot swept and your floors the way we found them.
